Etirinotecan pegol

Etirinotecan pegol (brand name Zirabev) is a chemotherapy medication used to treat metastatic colorectal cancer. It is an antineoplastic agent, meaning it works by inhibiting the growth and spread of cancer cells. Etirinotecan pegol is a pegylated form of the drug irinotecan, meaning it has been modified with a polyethylene glycol coating to improve its half-life. This enables it to remain in the body for a longer period of time, allowing it to be taken less frequently and potentially reducing the side effects associated with chemotherapy drugs. Etirinotecan pegol is generally administered intravenously over a 60-minute period. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
