Plerixafor

Plerixafor is a prescription medicine used to treat people with a type of blood cancer called non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It is a type of medicine called a CXCR4 inhibitor. It works by blocking the activity of a protein in the body called CXCR4 that helps cancer cells move around and grow. This reduces the number of cancer cells in the body and may help the body’s immune system fight the cancer. Plerixafor is usually given in combination with other medications such as chemotherapy or stem cell transplants.
