Sildenafil

Sildenafil is a prescription medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). It is a phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) inhibitor, which works to relax the muscles found in the walls of blood vessels, allowing them to expand and allow more blood to flow through. Sildenafil also helps to improve exercise capacity in patients with PAH. It may be taken with or without food, but taking it with a high-fat meal may increase the time before the medication starts working. Common side effects of sildenafil include headache, flushing, and indigestion.
