Bruise

A bruise is a type of injury that occurs when the soft tissue beneath the skin is damaged due to a direct impact or force. It results in discoloration of the skin and is often painful. A bruise can be caused by a variety of things, such as falling or being hit by something. The severity of a bruise depends on the amount of force that is applied to the skin. The discoloration is caused by the rupture of small blood vessels beneath the skin, which releases blood into the surrounding tissue. The body then forms a clot to stop the bleeding, and the discoloration is a result of the clotting process. The discoloration can range from a dark purple to a light green, depending on the amount of time that has passed since the injury was sustained.
