Dyspnea

Dyspnea is the medical term for shortness of breath or difficulty breathing. It is a common symptom of many medical conditions, such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), congestive heart failure, infections, and allergies. It can also be caused by anxiety or physical exertion. Dyspnea can range from mild to severe and can affect a person’s ability to perform everyday activities. Symptoms of dyspnea include tightness in the chest, feeling winded or out of breath, rapid breathing, and a sensation of not being able to get enough air. Treatment for dyspnea depends on the underlying cause and can involve medications, lifestyle changes, and other therapies.
