Night Sweats

Night sweats are a form of excessive sweating that occurs during sleep. They are often confused with symptoms of menopause and hot flashes. Night sweats can be caused by a variety of medical conditions and infections, including infections of the respiratory tract, such as tuberculosis, or endocrine disorders such as hyperthyroidism. Other causes of night sweats include certain medications, anxiety, stress, and hormone imbalances. In some cases, night sweats can be a symptom of a more serious medical condition, such as cancer. Treatment of night sweats depends on the underlying cause.
