Tumor

A tumor is an abnormal growth of cells in the body that can be either benign or malignant. Benign tumors are non-cancerous and do not spread, while malignant tumors are cancerous and can spread to other parts of the body. Tumors can be caused by a variety of factors, including genetic mutations, environmental factors, and lifestyle choices. The diagnosis of a tumor is usually based on the size and location of the tumor as well as its characteristics. Imaging tests, such as x-rays and CT scans, are often used to identify the location and size of the tumor. A biopsy may also be necessary to determine whether the tumor is benign or malignant. Treatment for a tumor depends on the type and size of the tumor, as well as the patient's overall health. Benign tumors may be surgically removed, whereas malignant tumors may require more aggressive treatments such as chemotherapy or radiation. In some cases, a combination of treatments may be used.
