Diaphragmosis
Diaphragmosis is a medical procedure that involves the use of a diaphragm to close off a natural orifice or opening in the body. This procedure is commonly used to block off the uterus in cases of uterine prolapse, but can also be used to close off a fistula, an abnormal passageway between two organs or body cavities. During the procedure, a small incision is made in the skin and the diaphragm is inserted into the opening and secured in place with sutures. The diaphragm helps to keep the organs in place and can also help to reduce the risk of infection. Diaphragmosis can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including uterine prolapse, anal prolapse, and rectal prolapse.
