Erotomania

Erotomania is a rare type of delusional disorder, in which the sufferer strongly believes that another person of higher status is in love with him or her, regardless of whether or not the object of the delusion has ever expressed any romantic interest. The sufferer may become fixated on the object of their delusion and may become obsessed with the idea of the relationship. This can lead to the sufferer sending unwanted gifts or cards, making unwanted phone calls, or even stalking the person. In some cases, the sufferer may become violent or threatening when their advances are rejected.
