Felon
Felon is a person who has been convicted of a medical crime. This usually involves engaging in fraudulent activities such as knowingly submitting false medical claims, falsifying medical records, or engaging in bribery or other illegal activities related to the medical field. A medical felon may also be someone who has been convicted of a serious medical offense such as practicing medicine without a license, illegally distributing prescription drugs, or even abusing patients. Medical felons face serious consequences for their actions, including potential jail time, fines, and loss of their medical license. Additionally, medical felons may also be excluded from participating in Medicare and Medicaid programs and may no longer be able to practice in the medical field. Depending on the severity of the crime, they may even be permanently barred from practicing medicine. Medical felons are not limited to medical professionals. Patients can also be convicted of medical felonies if they commit fraud against their insurer or manipulate their medical records. In these cases, the consequences may include a civil penalty, such as a fine or loss of health insurance coverage.
