Radiculosis

Radiculosis is a medical condition that occurs when a nerve root of the spine is compressed or irritated. It is a type of nerve root disorder and is typically associated with pain that radiates from the spine into the extremities. It may also be accompanied by numbness, tingling, and weakness. The most common cause of radiculosis is a herniated disk, which is a disk that has bulged outward and is pressing against a nerve root. Other causes can include degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, and spinal tumors. Radiculosis can be diagnosed through a physical examination and imaging tests such as an MRI or CT scan. Treatment usually involves pain medications, physical therapy, and lifestyle modifications. In some cases, surgery may be necessary to relieve the pressure on the nerve root.
