Strabismus
Strabismus, also known as Lazy Eye or Wandering Eye, is a disorder in which the eyes do not line up in the same direction. It is caused by an imbalance in the muscles of the eye, which causes the eyes to be misaligned. This can lead to a decrease in vision in one or both eyes. Strabismus can be treated with glasses, eye patches, eye exercises, and surgery. Treatment can reduce or even eliminate the misalignment, and improve the eyesight of the affected individual. In some cases, vision in the affected eye may not return to normal, and permanent vision loss can occur.
