Ethnopharmacology use
- The milky latex of plant is used as an expectorant.
- It is used locally as rubefacient, digestive, abortifacient.
- It is effective in earache, enlargement of spleen and lever, cutaneous affections, inflammation, rheumatism, asthma and dysentery.
- Latex is externally applied to skin on blisters/wounds, to remove warts and an antidote to snake bite.
- Root decoction is an abortifacient, leaves eaten as vegetable.
